SECRETS OF THE DARK: A PODCAST

INCIDENT TYPE: Occult Investigation / Unexplained Communication

PRIMARY WITNESS: Austin bookstore owner and horror personality

LOCATION OF INTEREST: Boleskine House, Scotland

RELATED FIGURE: Aleister Crowley

PHENOMENON: The Abramelin Operation

STATUS: OPEN

CASE SUMMARY

He sells books about darkness.

He talks about darkness.

But until now, he has never had to face it.

A widowed bookstore owner in Austin has become an unlikely minor celebrity in the horror world, largely because of Secrets of the Dark, the macabre podcast he hosts with a mysterious expert in the occult.

There’s only one problem.

He has never met his podcast partner.

Their relationship exists entirely through conversations and research. Whenever the podcast ventures into forbidden rituals, occult history, or things better left unexplained, his partner seems to know exactly where to look and sometimes knows things that shouldn’t be possible to know.

Then their investigation turns toward Boleskine House in Scotland and its infamous connection to occultist Aleister Crowley.

Crowley reportedly attempted the Abramelin Operation, an elaborate ritual intended to establish contact with one’s Holy Guardian Angel. But the deeper the podcast digs into the history surrounding Boleskine, the more difficult it becomes to separate documented events from legend; and legend from something still waiting to be discovered.

For a man already consumed by loss, the promise behind the ritual becomes dangerously personal.

What if the occult doesn’t merely offer knowledge?

What if it offers him something he desperately wants?

As Secrets of the Dark moves closer to Boleskine, the investigation becomes a struggle between grief, temptation, and the intoxicating promise of power.

And one question becomes more disturbing than all the others:

Who exactly has he been making a podcast with?
